It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our
Founder, W. Dwight Leatherwood
Dwight passed away on Sunday, November 16th, after suffering a fall three weeks prior.

Dwight led our company for 45 years with an enduring work ethic, kindness, and remarkable vision. His dedication to excellence and insistence on quality is reflected in our products that are still utilized today. His genuine care for employees, with whom he continually credited with the success of Leatherwood Plastics, and the pride he took in meeting and exceeding our business partners needs have shaped Leatherwood Plastics into the company it is today. While his passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express, Leatherwood Plastics will continue in the spirit of Dwight's steady leadership.

Dwight, along with his first wife and business partner Karen Leatherwood, guided our company through many economic challenges. Karen passed away in 2008, but the planning and infrastructure she put in place allowed Leatherwood Plastics to continue while Dwight and the company grieved her devastating loss.

Dwight’s commitment to Leatherwood Plastics’ continued success, even beyond himself, was strengthened and as such Dwight stepped back over the years, handing over decision making and business duties to trusted employees while focusing on implementing business continuity plans.
Our succession plan has been initiated and we are honored to continue Dwight’s vision and legacy for Leatherwood Plastics. Mrs. Linda Leatherwood, our current Vice President, Dwight’s loving wife and business partner, will serve as President and CEO moving forward. All existing contracts, partnerships, and business arrangements will continue without disruption.

#13 has finally finished his race, and is ready to collect his trophy!
